Raceclubs is more of a game of skill than it first looks, the object being to win money by training and racing your Raceclubs Racehorses. When you join, Raceclubs will send you an e-mail, giving you enough credit to buy the first of your Raceclubs racehorses. Once you spend $30, you will receive $60 in the form of "Bonus Credit" which is different to Cash Credit (being the real money you spend on Raceclubs). Bonus Credit can be spent on buying racehorses or add-ons for the racehorses. During the game, you can earn more bonus credits as part of prize money from Raceclubs, if your racehorses are placed in certain races or as a special bonus based on the number of races you have run in. However, Raceclubs will let you try it all out FREE, for a month.

The cost of a Raceclubs racehorse is $15 and they are purchased from the sales ring situated at the top left hand corner of your Raceclubs stable screen. When you first start on Raceclubs, for an initial outlay of just $30, you can buy 7 racehorses, but only if you use the entire Raceclubs bonus credit given you, on purchasing racehorses and not on any of the ads. Raceclubs racehorses can also be purchased from claiming races or in the Raceclubs racehorse auction.

At Raceclubs horseracing takes place on turf in England, Australia and Hong Kong. There is also dirt horseracing taking place in America, Canada and Dubai. Racehorses can race once a day up to a maximum of 30 times a month at Raceclubs. To get the best out of your racehorse at Raceclubs it is better to run them when about 95% fit. A race can add up to 4% in fitness to a racehorse; this though only happens if the racehorse is placed.

The cost of entering a race at Raceclubs can be anything from $2 (£1.16) up to about $30 (£16.80). All the entry fees go into a pool and Raceclubs take a 15% cut. The rest of the money is then split between the first 4 racehorses in the race. The maximum field is 14 runners and there are often purses in excess of $275 (£160). At the end of each season there are the Raceclubs championship races for a prize of about $1000 cash!
